Bloggeroni Times
BLOGGING.
Just can't do it. I have pondered why. Before I had knee surgery I thought it was because I was in such pain that I just wasn't in shape to write about whatever. Now that I'm over the surgery, feeling better, I realize that I just don't want to blog.
But blogging is writing. I love to write. I just don't particularly want to write about myself. So should I write about writing? I am leagues behind really good bloggers that this seems a bit silly. I'd rather just post their urls for their blogs and be done with it.
And what time I have to write, well I'd like to be writing. I tried to convince myself that I could do blogging on weeknights, when my brain is tired from work and my creative juices got drained somewhere between here and the office by a giant Juicer (think Jack Lalane and his white german shepherds). But even then I would frankly rather be reading, one of the things I know I need to do to write in the genres I've chosen. Or heck maybe even write on my WIPS (down boy, this is Works In Progress, nothing leather).
So what's a girl to do. I could decided that along with the new ultraviolet streaks hiding in my hair I could rebel and become the ANTI Blogger. Now keep in mind, I love other people's blogs. Gertie's Blog about her sewing adventures, Cynthia Leitich-Smith totally rocks with her YA and children's blog. What do I have to offer? Nada.
Course I had to wonder, is it because I don't think I matter. Oh wait- years of therapy and two exes (one official, the other mercifully unofficial) and did I say lots of therapy?-- have made me stand up and say YES I MATTER. Well heck, I do, matter, ya know.
Or maybe I'm lazy. Naw. Not me. That I'd rather read than write about something? I am writing reviews for the group we are putting together in Houston on the How to write books for YA. So I can do it, I just would rather put that energy into writing books.
But lazy? I write a good portion of my work day. That may be it. I am tired of writing about other things that are real and factual and not made up craziness from my head. Well perhaps some would say lawyers are fiction writers but I prefer to think I focus on the facts, the case law, and am really quite brilliant at it all.
Yep, that is it. I am writingly wiped out from work, and I just don't have that much interesting to say.
Does that mean the end of this blog? Oh no no no no.... I'm just going to have some fun and write about the writing world from my point of view. It won't be researched, or substantive, but just some of my own thoughts as I go along. And maybe a soapbox item of my choice now and then, after all I'm footing the bill for this bloggeroni! So bloggeroni it is, something fun, something that is a bit Italian much like me, and that might peak the interest of some readers here and there.
So enjoy the respite, it is now official bloggeroni time!
